The LAW DOGS MOTORCYCLE CLUB was formed in 1996 by three police officers who had a vision to start a Law Enforcement motorcycle club. Though the club has changed throughout the years, its ideals and philosophy have stayed the same. The present members of this club in all its chapters, remain a solid, committed brotherhood of Law Enforcement Officers.
The name "LAW DOGS" is derived from the old west. In those days of old, outlaws being pursued by the Sheriff and his posse could be heard to say that the "Law" was "Dogging" them. Thus we have adopted that name to signify our steadfast dedication, whether, active or retired, to ensuring that justice will prevail.
The color BLACK in our patches, symbolizes our mouning for all our fallen brothers and sisters in public safety but specifically in Law Enforcement. We remember and honor these brothers and sisters for giving the ultimate sacrifice during their service to our nation.
The color GREY in our patches symbolizes those areas of Law Enforcement that are not simply black and white, reminding us that we must act with temperament while still being steadfast in our pursuit of justice.
The patches of the LAW DOGS MOTORCYCLE CLUB (LDMC) are highlighted by the color PURPLE. This color was chosen because it represents courage (Purple Heart), the same courage that embodies all members of the LAW DOG MOTORCYCLE CLUB.
The center patch in the shape of a police shield, to make it easily identifiable as law enforcement officers, depicts an American Bull Dog named, "JUSTICE" who is clad in his leather cap and leather jacket. The American Bull Dog was chosen for its characteristics. He is alert and inquisitive, bold and fearless, without being hostile or overly aggressive.
The top rocker, LAW DOGS and the CENTER PATCH are both Registered Marks of the LAW DOGS MOTORCYCLE CLUB INCORPORATED and their use shall not be granted without the expressed written consent of the LAW DOGS MOTORCYCLE CLUB INC.
All club events are intended to promote safe activities that will appeal to the membership as a whole, ideas for any events can be suggested by any member. Activities shall include, but not be limited to, several motorcycle runs within the State as well as outside the State, annual picnics, an annual Toy Run and other annual activities focusing on raising money for charitable causes.
